A Flea in Her Ear. Michigan Shakespeare Festival. July 2023

Georges Feydeau's "A Flea in Her Ear" is one of his best known of his plays and what a play it is. Fast, witty, and exhausting for the actors! This merry band had a lot of fun with the play as is evidenced by the joyful photographs and facial expressions!

I always enjoy working with Michigan Shakespeare Festival and this year was no exception. Sometimes it seemed as though the universe had it in for us, though. There were multiple problems in all areas of the festival and then I had to rush off to the UK to be with family! I was fortunate enough to be able to leave the alterations and notes for the costumes in the capable hands of a fellow costume designer who was graciously stepped in at the last minute to help me out. That is part of what I love about theatre and theatre people, always there for each other. Thank you Shelby Newport!

It did all work out, Shelby got most of the notes done, I got back for the start of tech, the rest of the notes and last minute changes. We managed a sort of dress rehearsal in between major thunderstorms, power cuts and rain on stage and, the show went on!!
