The 39 Steps, based on the film by Alfred Hitchcock, was fun and challenging to work on. Set in the 1940's, three of our four actors had multiple characters to represent and giving them a different look for each one, while they had to be on stage pretty much the entire time, was an interesting exercise! Below you will see my research board followed by photographs of the actors during the play. We had policemen, gangsters, various women, cleaners, daughters, neighbors, mysterious spies, Scottish politicians, farmers, seriously evil guys and underwear salesmen!
